Sobering Center
A Safe Place to Sober Up
The BHS Sobering Center provides a safe, supportive environment for individuals experiencing acute intoxication. Operating as an alternative to emergency departments and jail, our center offers stabilization, compassionate care, and direct connections to ongoing treatment.
The Sobering Center serves individuals brought in by first responders, hospital emergency departments, or community partners, as well as walk-ins. Rather than spending hours in a busy ER or a jail cell, clients are welcomed into a calm, supervised space where they can recover safely.
Our trained staff monitor each client's well-being throughout the stay, and our care coordinators work to connect every client to the right next step — whether that's withdrawal management, residential treatment, outpatient services, mental health support, or housing assistance.
