Specialized Care for Young People

BHS provides outpatient substance abuse treatment and mental health services to adolescents ages 12 to 18. Our programs are designed to reach youth who exhibit substance use risk factors or early experimentation, providing personalized care drawn from comprehensive evaluations.

Comprehensive Adolescent Programs

Our youth programs address the full range of adolescent behavioral health needs, from early intervention to ongoing treatment and family support.

Assessment & Treatment Planning

Comprehensive evaluation of each adolescent's unique situation to develop a personalized treatment plan.

Alcohol & Drug Education

Age-appropriate education about substance use, its effects, and strategies for making healthy choices.

Individual & Family Counseling

One-on-one therapy and family sessions to address underlying issues and strengthen family dynamics.

Group Counseling

Peer-based group therapy providing a supportive environment for shared experiences and growth.

Social & Recreational Activities

Structured activities that promote healthy socialization, teamwork, and positive life skills.

Flexible Scheduling

Program activities provided after school hours and on Saturdays to accommodate school schedules.

Early Intervention

Who We Serve

Our programs specialize in reaching youth who are at risk or in the early stages of substance use. We serve:

  • Youth ages 12–17 (extending to young adults 18–20 when clinically appropriate)
  • Individuals showing escalating alcohol or drug use
  • Adolescents with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health conditions
  • Those transitioning from treatment requiring relapse prevention support
  • Youth eligible for EPSDT under California Medi-Cal

Insurance & Funding

Accessible Care

We believe every young person deserves access to quality care. Our youth services accept Medi-Cal and other insurance, and programs are funded by Los Angeles County agencies to ensure accessibility for all families.

All programs are personalized, drawing from comprehensive evaluations and assessments of each patient's unique situation.
